Since the
Radical SR9 first ran at Paul Ricard in March 2006 the car has exceeded
all expectations. This all new LMP2 car complies with the latest
ACO regulations and is eligible to run in the LMS, ALMS, Japanese
LMC and the 24 Heures du Mans.
The SR9 rolling chassis is of a very high basic
specification and includes carbon composite chassis and bodywork,
a Ricardo 750Nm paddle operated semi-automatic gearbox, power steering
and six pot mono block calipers with dry break couplings.
The SR9’s may be fitted with either a Judd 3.4litre V8 or
an AER Powertec 2 litre Turbo.
Running on Dunlop tyres and fitted with the Judd engine, the SR9
proved extremely competitive during the recent 24 Heures du Mans.
The SR9 ran seventh overall, for several hours, led the P2 class
and completed the event, despite two engine related problems.
